Saturday, March 30th was International Table Top Day and we helped host an event at our local library in Massachusetts (Somerset Public Library). The Friends of the Somerset Public Library provided snacks and water for us (so generous) and the library staff were really helpful providing some games, table setup and a Wii! We had close to 30 people in attendance, and it was a great social/community event.
People played a great mix of classic games, new classics and independent/unique games. What we played:
- Kill Dr. Lucky
- Flame War
- Candy Land
- Ticket to Ride
- Elder Sign
- Miskatonic School for Girls
- Munchkin Apocalypse
We didn’t get to all the games in the seven hours, but we did a lot of fun stuff! We were happy with all the people who came out and joined us, and we’re thinking about ways that we can continue to reach out and serve the local community with fun, geeky events and activities. Easter weekend is tough with a lot of people busy with family, dinner prep and travel, so we were glad so many of our friends made an effort to join us.
When we do this again, we will probably set up the live feed from Geek & Sundry’s TTD and maybe a twitter feed with live updates on Table Top Days happening around the world.
Games I wish I had time to play if we had 7 more hours:
If you really want to see how totally epic this event was, just gooogle #tabletopday and see all the images, tweets, vine posts and other amazing stuff that happened all over the world Saturday to celebrate!
