Join us to learn about the world around us by sending and receiving postcards through Postcrossing.com!

For the first fiew weeks, we will be sending postcards, learning about how to address and write a postcard and marking on the map the locations we are sending them to.

Once we start receiving postcards from around the world, we will map where they are coming from and doing some research on the different locations, learning about latitude and longitude and a bit about sociology.

Finally, each student will have a chance to choose one of the countries that we have corresponded with, do a light research project and end of year presentation on the country to share with our families.

We’ll also learn a little about technology by scanning in the postcards we receive and taking turns uploading them to a blog and copying down the message.

About Postcrossing: Postcrossing.com allows people to receive postcards from all over the world, for free. Well, almost free! The main idea is that: if you send a postcard, you will receive one back from a random Postcrosser from somewhere in the world. Why? Because, like the founder, there are lots of people who like to receive real mail.
