ASH EDMONDS

How long have you been working in adventure games?

I have been a GM/DM/Referee/Judge/Ect. for over 3 years now.

How would you describe your style?

I have a background in theatre, counseling, and mediation – and tend to bring elements from all three into the experience of my games. I focus heavily on the exploring the characters the players have created, saying “yes, and” or “no, but” to any and all situations, allowing all players to connect and work collaboratively to solve problems, and making sure everyone at the table has equal amount of time to say what is on their mind and to be heard.

What makes you unique as a performer?

I emphasize collaboration and socio-emotional learning through gameplay. One of my focuses in my undergraduate degree was exploring how of game based learning theory and gamification theory can drastically improve critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, communication skills, emotional identification, needs identification, and group collaboration.

What else should people know about you?

I am an Evergreen Graduate with a background in Counseling and the Theatre Arts. I am also a Washington State certified mediator who specializes in two party and group cases involving either family or workplace dynamics.
