How long have you been a Game Master (GM)?
I’ve been playing for 2 decades and GMing for the last year and change!
How would you describe your GM style?
Heavy on roleplaying and building characters and worlds!
What makes you unique as a GM?
I was a player for nearly 20 years before I began to GM. This gave me lots of insights into the players mindset so I know very well how to make the adventure interesting and FUN for players! Also, with a degree in theatre and a career spent building immersive worlds, I’m prepared (eager, in fact) for anything my players come up with, and will weave it into the quest we’re on together! The rules are a guideline and a foundation, but it’s what the players create that makes an adventure epic and a total blast. I don’t care if folks know the rules like the back of their hand or are overwhelmed by the mere thought of learning the system. It will be new to all of us because no one has ever had exactly THIS experience before. They can’t have. Because we’re about to make it up!
What else should people know about you?
I’m a native NYer who has spent her career in immersive theatre. I studied at NYU Tisch and the Royal Academy of Dramatic art in London where I discovered british company, Punchdrunk, and helped bring their hit show “Sleep No More” to NYC. I’ve run my own immersive theatre company since 2012 and lately we have expanded into a bit of adventure television! We have a streamed series called SpaGoblin where we visit Spas, check out the local culture, and bring the adventure to you!

Kristi managed a large group of players and guided us through the game with skill and creativity. It was a real pleasure to take part and I don't hesitate to recommend her!
Kristi feels the players. I was part of a large group of mixed players. Some were new, others were experienced. Some were there for the role playing others for the adventure. Kristi managed to engage with us all and create a fun evening.
After a long time of trying to get people around a table to play DnD and never managing to pull it off, I had the pleasure of playing with Kristi in an online one off adventure with friends. Kristi had a session the day before our game with me to go over the basics and guide me through the character creation process. She also created a session an hour before we started our game to answer any last minute questions we had before we jumped in.
The adventure was extremely fun, and through her solid DMing I was able to grasp the setting and the gameplay very quickly. She was able to ensure that both new and experienced players had a great time.
Kristi thoughtfulness, knowledge and creativity has made my first foray into DnD a truly enjoyable experience.
Kristi did a great job with a group that had experience ranging from first-timers to long-time players. In a brief session zero, she did a lot of work in establishing our characters and some connections between them, which made the whole experience more fleshed-out and engaging.
Kristi did an amazing job with our (very) large group of novices and experienced old-timers. Her ability to keep such a large group moving while providing great narrative makes her one of the very best DMs I've had the pleasure of playing under.
Kristi is an excellent GM. I'm in the middle of a campaign and have found her to be overly prepared with developed stories and descriptions. Kristi really excels at keeping everyone playing involved and taking the time to check in with each player during the narrative. She is also the only GM I've played with that recaps the previous session in a detailed story (or even a blank verse poetic narrative). Can't wait to play again.
I love playing when Kristi's in the GM chair. Whether it's a group interested in hacking and slashing their way through every encounter or a crew who wants to take a deep dive into character role-play, Kristi weaves a story that builds tensions, leaves space for laughter, and sets the stage for major character revelations. Can't wait for our next session!
Kristi is so much fun as a GM! Her voices and characterizations make the world so rich and real. And she keeps things moving, too. She's fair, funny, and smart! Fordstrat is such a great concept!
