In the beginning

Back in 2015 I started watching a weekly D&D livestream through Geek and Sundry called “Critical Role.”  It was a comforting show for my husband and I as we were still trying to find friendly nerd spaces in the South Coast MA city we had been living in for the past 2 years.  The table reminded us of the friends and tables we played with and left behind back in NY.  Everyone was enthusiastic, and engaged.  The DM and the Players all had fantastic voices and bits that added to the story.

A critter is born

As time went on, we moved, found and made our own spaces to game like we once had, but every week I kept tuning back in to watch these “nerdy voice actors sit around and play D&D.”  They started a new campaign and I listened to it on the way to a Thanksgiving family function because I would not miss it!  I saw them live in NYC, and even started DMing a campaign in the same universe for my friends.  Then the Kickstarter for an animated Vox Machina series came along and I hit that pledge button so hard I nearly broke my hand.  I still tune in, and have been thoroughly enjoying their third campaign.

 The adventure continues

It is an understatement to say that I have been looking forward to this animated show. Vox Machina Origins   I have been following along with each update about the animation, the design; and today (1/20/22) the cast list for the NPCs of Taldorei dropped, and I couldn’t help but vibrate with excitement.

The Big Announcement

Variety reported on the cast list in this article and it is a laundry list of incredible talent.  David Tenant as General Krieg, a character fans of Critical Role have heard about in past tense, and I’m eager to see how his involvement with Vox Machina plays out.  Stephanie Beatriz as Lady Kima, a badass halfling paladin who I personally loved in the first campaign.  GREY GRIFFIN AS DELILAH BRIARWOOD.  I’m so excited to hear Griffin’s version of the villainess, Delilah Brairwood, especially with her experience as Azula from Avatar the Last Airbender.  This show isn’t just going to be a great watch for fans of Critical Role.  It’s going to be a great watch.  Period.

The Legend of Vox Machina” premiers on Friday, January 28th on Amazon prime.  Is it Friday, yet?
